Fairfield City Champion Bonnyrigg's Foundation of Hope Charity Ball a success The Foundation of Hope Charity Ball was held at Bonnyrigg’s Novella Events Centre last Saturday, raising more than $25,000 for the Autism Advisory and Support Service (AASS). The generosity of the community will go towards continuing to provide free services to children with autism and their families. Fairfield Mayor Nick Lalich and Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller joined more than 180 guests, with Frank Coletta as the night's MC. AASS president Grace Fava was overwhelmed with the outcome of the event. “It was an awesome night that exceeded all our expectations,” she said. “To communicate to people and get them to understand what families go through and how autism affects their lives really is priceless.” There is a higher percentage of children affected by autism in south-west Sydney than in any other region in the state. The AASS is auspiced by Community First Step and was established by a group of local parents in 2007. It now provides assistance to more than 500 families and service providers around NSW.
